There will be regular up-dates of scholarship and other opportunities that are available for all grade levels.  Some information will have web addresses that you can visit.  Copy and paste the web address to your web browser to access these scholarships and programs.  Some scholarships do not have a web address and these scholarships and applications can be acquired in the guidance office.

  • Wendy's High School Heisman Award - class of 2018 with a 'B' grade average, participates in at least one sport - apply online at - due October 2 for the class of 2018

  • Young Arts Award - students ages 15-18 or grades 10-12 may apply in the areas of cinematic arts, dance, design arts, jazz, music, photograph, theater, visual arts, voice, writing, spoken word - go to - by Ocber 14

  • "Make the U" Colgate-Palmolive Hispanic Scholarship - must be of Hispanic heritage, based on 3 short essays of 500 words or less - go to  - submitted by October 15

  • Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway Scholarship - $100,000 - 20 Awards (Deadline: October 18)
     To be eligible for the scholarship a student must: A) The contest is open to all students of the freshman, sophomore, junior and senior classes (Grades 9 - 12) in the public, parochial, private and home schools within the jurisdiction of the sponsoring state society or district. Applications can be found by going to: 

  •  Horatio Alger National and State Scholarship - senior, pursue a bachelor's degree, critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross income), involved in co-curricular and community service activities, 2.0 GPA - due by October 25

  • SP SCholarship - Must be a high school senior planninf to attend college in September 2018, and answer the Essay question on the sponsors website.  10 awards will be given out Deadline October 31

  • VIP Voice Scholarships - Must be 13 years of age or older, can submit multiple entries, - due Oct. 31

  • Coca-Cola Scholars Program - senior must have a 3.0 or higher - apply online at - due by October 31

  • Stokes Educational Scholarship Program - must major in computer science, or computer/electrical engineering - Senior in high school, ACT at least 25 or SAT of 1200, GPA 3.0, U.S. citizen - go to: - due from September 1 through October 31


    November Scholarships

  • Prudential Spirit of Community Award - this award is to recognize middle and high school students for volunteer service in their community - apply at or - due by November 7

  • Maryknoll Scholarship - $1,000 6 awards given out, Grades 6-8 Division 1, Grades 9-12 Division 2, Entries must written in English, only one per student.  https://www.student

  • Student Photography Scholarship - $2,500 - 11 Awards given out, High school students applying for these scholarships must have taken at least one photography or related art class or a College or Technical school students applying for these scholarships must have completed one year at a recognized college, university or professional school.

  • Hagan Scholarship Foundation - intended for high achieving students who will require financial assistance in order to attend college - go to: - due November 15

  • Soy Scholarship - senior with a 3.0, child or grandchild of a current ASA member, pursue an agriculture degree - go to - due November 21


    StyleMann Young Professionals Scholarship - $1,800, must write an essay due November 30

    Sixt Scholars - $5,000 - 5 Awards graduating senior, have a minimum 3.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale Due November 30



    December Scholarships


  • Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois - for the class of 2016 who have the potential of being excellent teachers, scholars agree to teach five years in an Illinois school of need, scholars must attend four residential summer institutes - - due (priority) December 1 or February 15

  • Greenhouse Scholar - attend a four-year institution, 3.5 GPA, demonstrate financial need (household income no greater than $70,000), strong interest in and commitment to the community, persevere through difficult circumstances, and excellent leadership skills - go to - due December 1

  • National Space Club Scholarship - $10,000 - 1 Award Due December 1, Must be U.S. Citizen, open to high school seniors through graduate students, plan to pursue a career in the STEM fields and plan to attend an accrediated U.S. college or university

  • Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program - one student with a 2.8 GPA is nominated from the school for their commitment to community, academics, and demonstrated leadership - due December 3

  • Burger King McLamore Foundation Scholars Program - sr., maintain a 2.5 GPA, full-time enrollment in 2017-18 at a 2 or 4 year college, university, or trade school - go to - available October 15 thru December 15

  • AXA Community Scholarship  - based on ambition and drive, determination to set and reach goals, respect for self/family and community, ability to succeed in college  - go to: - due December 15
  • Foot Locker Scholar Athletes - Awarding 20 - $20,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are athletes or participate in intramurals, martial arts programs.  Visit for more information and the online application.  due December 15
  • Kankakee Iroquois Educational Office Professionals Scholarship - senior, must intend to continue in an office-related business program, must have completed two or more business education courses (four semesters), must be enrolled/expected as a full-time student in an institution of higher education (2-4 year College/University), must be responsible for the completion and return of all required support material - postmarked by December 16

  • NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundation Scholarship - senior, attend a school of higher learning, and has an established business - go to: - due December 18

  • Children of Veterans Tuition Waiver - can be applied to the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign, Chicago, Springfield, or Health Sciences Center) - must be a natural or legal child of a veteran - priority deadline January 3

  • 2016 CBAI Foundation for Community Banking Annual Scholarship - seniors, essay contest emphasizing the philosophy of the community banking industry - due February 3

  • Americanism Essay Contest - three class groups for grades 7-12, less than 500 word essay - due by February 5

  • HomeStar Customer Scholarship - parent or grandparent is a customer of HomeStar, 2.5 GPA, 2 or 4 year college or university, positive leadership and character, part/full time employment, financial need - go to: - due February 10

  • Beta Sigma Psi Martin Luther Scholarship - young men who will be attending their first year at any accredited four-year college or university, must be confirmed in the Lutheran faith - due February 13

  • Illinois PTA Scholarship - Senior, 3.0 non-weighted GPA, enrolled in an education or education-related degree program - go to: - due February 15

  • 1st Farm Credit Services - First Choice Agriculture Scholarship - furthering education in agriculture or rural life-related field, based on academic achievement, community and agriculture youth organization involvement and essays - received by February 15

            - Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship - child or grandchild of veteran who serviced in the Armed Forces, complete 50 hours of volunteer service within the community during high school - due March 1

  • Delta Kappa Gamma Education Recruitment Grant - female student planning to major in the field of education - received by March 1

  • Apartment List Scholarship - exemplify one or more of these core values:  bold while pragmatic, endlessly helpful, making an impact, driven by data, succeeding together, and/or forever learning; will be attending an accredited university or college - go to: - due March 1
